Program Overview

Designed for students from all academic backgrounds, the Summer + Language program in Palma de Mallorca offers students interested in business, tourism, and Spanish culture and traditions a unique opportunity to live and learn abroad. Home to stunning scenery, unique Mediterranean cuisine, and near-constant sunshine, Palma de Mallorca is a top European tourist destination, welcoming around 12 million tourists annually.

This idyllic location is perfect for students to see the balance between tourism and sustainable development. When class is in session, students take their courses in English at CIEE's partner school, Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB). Outside the classroom, students will have ample opportunities to explore the city's wine industry, taste authentic Mediterranean dishes, and learn how business, hospitality, and environmental sustainability are impacted by tourism. All courses are complemented with immersive co-curricular activities, company visits, and hands-on workshops designed to enhance classroom learning and develop intercultural understanding.
