Fact Sheet:

Program Description:
"As soon as I got to Arkansas I knew that place was just perfect for me, I felt so welcomed first by the international students community, then by the american students, even by the rednecks!!! I became probably the Razorback fan number one! I was so far from home but felt so home in Fayetteville! I enjoyed every single moment of my time in Arkansas, but I know that it's not only about the great University we have, it's not about the great place I have been living for a year, it's all about the people I met during that year." --Thoughts from a recent French exchange student--

Why study at the University of Arkansas?

With outstanding students, highly recognized areas of study and primo sports programs, the University of Arkansas is a major source of pride for both Fayetteville and the state.

The campus overflows with beauty and history. Beginning at the front steps of Old Main, every graduate’s name is etched into Senior Walk, a pathway stretching more than five miles.

President Clinton, born in Arkansas, and former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, were married in Fayetteville and both taught law at our university.

U.S. Senator J. William Fulbright grew up in Fayetteville and was our university president before starting the Fulbright Scholars Program.

The President of Panama, Ricardo Martinelli, is a U of A graduate, along with other high profile graduates like Robert Maurer, inventor of fiber optic technology, Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys and J. Walker Keller, developer of the heart pacemaker.

And, what is so great about Fayetteville?

Fayetteville is a college town, which means the Razorbacks are an integral part of our community. So, whether it’s catching a baseball game or taking a tour of campus, we encourage you to catch our spirit.

Fayetteville is located in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, where there is a plethora of outdoor activities at your fingertips! Try your hand at: mountain and road biking, hiking, rock climbing and bouldering, camping, canoeing and kayaking, repelling and zip-lining, spelunking, fishing and more!

The region is one of the fastest-growing in the U.S., boasts one of the nation’s lowest unemployment rates, and hosts two Fortune 500 headquarters, including the business giant, Walmart, with over 350 of the Fortune 500 companies represented in the Northwest Arkansas area.

So, see a Broadway production at the Walton Arts Center. Catch a great local band on Dickson Street. Spread a blanket and enjoy the free concerts in the parks. Call the Hogs from the student section of Razorback Stadium. Explore the caves of Devil’s Den State Park. Support local artisans at the Farmers’ Market. Camp and canoe on one of the nearby rivers. The list goes on and on.

Recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of the best places to live and work in the United States, Fayetteville brings together the activity of a metropolitan area and the charm of a relaxed mountain getaway. Add to that the thriving business community of Northwest Arkansas and the excitement of a traditional college campus and you’ll understand why our students never lack something to do.

We can’t wait to see you soon!
