Live abroad and gain the international internship experience you need to get hired in today’s increasingly globalized economy. You have your very own set of talents, experiences, and personality traits that no one else can exactly duplicate, but how do you prove that to employers? An internship is a great opportunity to gain work experience and working in a new environment enhances those professional skills with attributes of adaptability and self-reliance. Global Experiences’ programs provide the opportunity for participants to have the overseas adventure they want while simultaneously getting the experience they need. Its the best of both worlds!

Global Experiences offers internship programs lasting between 8 and 15 weeks in nearly every career field imaginable. Along with a full-time internship, interns are provided with central accommodation, cultural events and day trips, professional networking events, and on the ground support.

Every detail of our programs is carefully selected based on our years of experience and knowledge of our host locations. An internship should be hands-on, challenging, and eye-opening, right? And living abroad should be exhilarating and fun! We get that. Couple our carefully curated programming with our award winning professional career coaching, and you have an international internship program unlike any other.

Global Experiences Internship program in Barcelona:

Located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is famous for its colorful architecture, amazing food, and welcoming people. With its unique characteristics, it is no surprise that Barcelona is consistently ranked as as one of the world’s top 10 tourist destinations. Millions flock to the sandy coasts each year to indulge in the Spanish culture of living life to the fullest.

Furthermore, the aesthetic design of Barcelona is unlike any other city in the world with a blend of mosaics and original creations by famous local visionary architect Antoni Gaudi. Couple that with some of Europe’s most famous beaches, delicious local cuisine, the largest football (soccer) stadium in all of Europe, and a flare for flashy nightlife and celebrations, and you’ll have your hands full trying to see and do everything you set out to see and do during your internship in this vibrant and exciting city.Imagine living in paradise for 8-12 weeks while improving your Spanish skills and gaining professional experience in your career field. Make your dreams a reality with one of our full-time internships in Barcelona, Spain this summer, spring, or fall. Home to hundreds of businesses, agencies, and non-profits, Barcelona is an ideal location for anyone who is interested in international business, public relations, NGO’s, finance, or tourism.

Housing: Your new home-away-from-home will be a traditional Spanish flat (apartment) in Barcelona. You will live in a shared bedroom in a shared apartment with bed linens and utilities provided. Your flatmates may be other interns in the program or other students or young professionals renting a room like you. Each building and apartment is different, so the location within the city and building amenities will vary between your place and others' -- some apartments may be recently remodeled while others are much older, some may be closer to the city center, while others are farther out.

A few weeks before your program starts, you will receive your specific address, landlord contact info, and details about included amenities. Because some of the buildings in Spain are centuries old, modern conveniences we may take for granted at home may not be available in your flat. This includes a dishwasher, microwave, air conditioning, washer and/or dryer, etc. Prepare to adjust to an apartment without A/C in the summer (it's hot!) or central heating, as well as line dry clothes or utilize a nearby coin-operated laundromat. Furthermore, housing in Spain and the rest of Europe is generally much more limited in space than what you might be accustomed to, so you should expect a small bedroom, bed, closet, kitchen, bathroom, etc. Remember, your housing is only temporary and this is the typical lifestyle for local Spaniards.
